Because I think the bond between Mikey and Leo is the absolute cutest. In headcanon, Mikey adores Leo as an older brother and as a hero, especially when they were younger. He looked up to him openly. Leo would notice and he'd be so happy to see the sincere adoration in his eyes. He'd know that he was doing a good job as the eldest, protecting them and being there for them, simply by the way Mikey looked at him.
